Dionisio Gomez - Managing Partner
Dionisio was born and raised in Panama city, Panama. Growing up in Panama, Dionisio was a three sport athlete: baseball, soccer and basketball. As he grew older, he developed a deeper love for the game of basketball. Basketball immediately became the key to a promising future. Dionisio left Panama for the U.S. at the age of 17. He attended Fayetteville Christian High School in Fayetteville, Arkansas where he lettered in basketball. He then got recruited to play division one basketball (NCAA) at the University of Arkansas. Dionisio spent five years at the University of Arkansas before moving into a pro career. His pro-career began the summer of 2003 when he was invited to training camp with the Dallas Mavericks (NBA). From then on, Dionisio embarked on a 11 year pro-career that took him around the globe. He spent the majority of his career in countries such as Argentina, Spain and Japan.
Morgandy Gomez - Director of Sports
Morgan is from Norman, Oklahoma. She participated in all sports growing up and won two state championships in basketball. Morgan graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology and Master in Education. While obtaining her master degree, Morgan started officiating basketball to help paid for her schooling. After obtaining her masters, Morgan continued to officiate basketball. What was originally just an additional source of income, quickly escalated into a career! Morgan became a top official in the area, which got her invited to Nationally Ranked Officiating Camps. There, she took her talents to another level. After only 2 years of officiating Rec leagues and attending multiple camps, Morgan became a Division I NCAA Women’s Basketball Official. While officiating at the NCAA Division I level, Morgan also taught and coached at Ferguson Junior High School. After deciding to stop coaching and officiating to have children, Morgan began traveling around the globe in support of her husband’s professional career. Morgan and her husband started TumblevilleExpress, a mobile gymnastic playground that served Daycares and preschools daily to provide teachers a break during the day. Morgan created all the lesson plans and successfully ran the day to day operations of the business.
Morgan currently is a case manager at Turning Point Family Care, where she manages cases of at risk youth and helps them receive the treatment they need. She serves as the Sports Director for the Academy. Morgan started the club volleyball and the Club Basketball program at the Academy. She also coaches and is involved in the organization of all tournaments and clinics at the Academy.
Morgan and her husband have four beautiful children: Gabriela, Alexander, Addison and Jordi.

Built in 2015, the Academy was innovatively designed and constructed with function in mind. The mission of the Academy has been to provide an entertaining, educational, and friendly environment, in an effort to address and meet the recreational, fitness, and social needs of the citizens of Southern Utah.
